2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000

2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000 review

GSX-R1000 is a bike that has been refined and developed on the asphalt courts and around the world. It is a machine which is firmly defined domination, having won an incredible seven AMA Superbike Championships in a row. With its first class, engine, chassis and suspension technology, there is no doubt that the GSX-R1000 superbike is undoubtedly AD.

2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000 Features

The engine characteristics

The first class, GSX-R is powered by a 999 cc four-cylinder with a. Bore and stroke of 74.5mm x 57.3mm and a compression ratio of 12.8:1 and the engine provides better throttle response at all speeds and offers a high potential for performance on the racetrack. The engine is built with high quality titanium valves, forged pistons and connecting rods-blasted.

Mode of fire that can accommodate a large intake and exhaust valves. Size of the intake valve is 31 mm and the diameter of the exhaust valve is 25 mm.

Oversquare engine bore and stroke of 74.5mm x 57.3mm specifically gives better performance at high rpm.

The compact engine, Suzuki engineers may include a shorter wheelbase design a longer swingarm to improve performance on the track.

Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) plated cylinders integrated into the top cover helps reduce friction, improve heat transfer, increase longevity and provides a better seal ring.

SDTV (Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve) uses two butterfly valves in each throttle body barrel, the main valve controlled by the pilot through the lever and the secondary valve controlled by the ECM.

Each throttle body feeds two cylinders and each cylinder of the throttle body carries up to two ultra-fine-atomization, 12 hole injectors, which produce a fine mist of fuel combustion increases. This ultimately reduces the fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. In addition, the GSX-R1000 with Iridium spark plugs, which produce a spark powerful efficient combustion.

A unique Suzuki Drive select switch (S-DMS) system enables the driver to choose one of three maps of fuel injection and ignition system, adjusting power delivery is personal preference. Using a button on the left handlebar, the driver can switch immediately to the three maps, which were designated A, B and C are displayed on the dashboard.

A large, efficient radiator with a trapezoidal shape developed on factory race bike team and a trapezoidal engine oil cooler both help reduce drag. Oil cooler is trapezoidal in shape (rather than the more rectangular classical), giving the lower fairing to be narrower, which helps improve aerodynamics and reduce drag.

Suzuki Advanced Exhaust System (SAE) engine, used for less than the subject, a low, large racing-inspired titanium mufflers.

Transmission functions

The clutch torque limiter includes back-Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) for light clutch pull and optimum clutch performance. The cable running back-torque limiting coupling provides a clutch operation with superb feel effective.

Chassis Features

The GSX-R1000 is equipped with a compact double-beam support structure consists of five elements in cast iron. The frame is paired with a one-piece support in the new model and the swing arc formed by three castings.

Light Showa fork large piston (BPF) design eliminates fork 43mm internal cartridge assembly inserted into each fork leg and instead uses a single 39.6mm upper piston riding against the inside of the inner fork tubes. This design provides endurance race proven valves efficient, with more controlled compression to provide better feedback to the rider.

Showa rear suspension system operates through a contact mounted on a swingarm in aluminum alloy connecting rod and extruded aluminum alloy attached to the chassis. Rear suspension is adjustable rebound, preload and compression damping both fast and slow.

Electronically controlled steering damper uses the ECM to monitor and adjust the speed of a motorcycle shock absorber, if necessary.

The front brakes have 310 mm floating discs and tested in competition stiff, lightweight, forged monoblock radial-mount calipers.

The rear disc brake works with a single piston caliper mounted above the swingarm.

The edgy and clean GSX-R1000 style integrates the details of the fairing and bodywork to reduce turbulence and drag.

Attention to rider comfort includes a carefully shaped seat and adjustable foot rests (pegs are three-position adjustment - 14 mm in a horizontal and vertical range). Coverage back section is also included for solo rides or track days.

Fuel tank capacity is 17.5 liters carved (4.6 U.S. gal). Only a specific California. model is 16.5 liters (4.4 U.S. gal) fuel tank.

GSX-R1000 is a typical multi-reflector headlight with a vertical development of high and low beam halogen bulbs halfway between the parking lights on both sides. Front and rear direction indicators feature clear lenses over amber bulbs.

The tools are silver rings analog tachometer LCD speedometer. Readings LCD odometer, dual trip meter, odometer, reserve, clock, coolant temperature / oil pressure control, the position of the gear indicator, clock / stopwatch, the S-DMS setting indicator and bar graph light level instrument, or brightness.
